SUBJECT: APPROVE PURCHASE OF CALSENSE SMART IRRIGATION CONTROLLERS
AND IRRIGATION EQUIPMENT FOR VARIOUS PARKS
Background:
As part of the Fiscal Year 2023/24 budget process, the Public Services Department budgeted for the purchase of Calsense Smart Irrigation Controllers for the Foster Road Greenbelt and Gerdes Park, as well as funds for updating the irrigation at the Foster Road Greenbelt, Gerdes Park and Zimmerman Park. The Calsense controllers will allow staff to remotely adjust irrigation controls.
All of the equipment needed to complete the projects mentioned above will be purchased through Ewing Outdoor Supply, which has a Cooperative Purchasing Agreement though Equalis Group.
Fiscal Impact:
Adequate funds are included in the approved Fiscal Year 2023/24 budget for the purchase of the Calsense Irrigation controllers and equipment to complete the irrigation upgrades.

The recommended action will further the City’s Strategic Plan Goal 2: Work in Partnership with Our Community to Achieve Safe and Livable Neighborhoods, Objective 1, Reinvest in existing and aging infrastructure.

8 Recommended Action:
Staff recommends City Council approve the purchase of the Calsense Irrigation controllers and equipment to complete the irrigation upgrades at Gerdes Park, Zimmerman Park and the Foster Road Greenbelt at a cost of $105,489.93; and authorize the City Manager to proceed with the purchase.
