SUBJECT: AMENDMENT NO. 1 – PURCHASE OF ONE PARATRANSIT DIAL-A-RIDE VAN Background:
City Council approved an agreement with Model 1 Commercial Vehicles, Inc. (Model 1), formerly known as Creative Bus Sales, Inc., by means of participating in cooperative agreement on November 15, 2022. Under this purchasing cooperative agreement, Norwalk Transit System (NTS) acquired three Starcraft Allstar Class C paratransit vans.
NTS is seeking to amend the agreement to include the purchase of one additional Starcraft Allstar Class C paratransit van. NTS has secured the additional paratransit van from Morongo Basin Transit Authority (MBTA) via an Approval for Assignment of Vehicle letter. This letter allows MBTA to re-assign excess vehicles to transit agencies to purchase through the cooperative agreement by September 9, 2024.
Fiscal Impact:
The total estimated cost of $139,834.06 will be funded through FTA Grant # CA-2023-124 in the amount of $104,000 and Proposition A Local Return in the amount of $35,834.06 matching funds. There is no impact to the General Fund.

Recommended Action:
Staff recommends City Council approve Contract Amendment No. 1 with Model 1 Commercial Vehicles, Inc. to acquire one Starcraft Allstar Class C paratransit van in the amount of $139,834.06; and authorize the City Manager to execute the amendment on behalf of the City, in a form approved by the City Attorney.
