SUBJECT: PROJECT NO. 7935 - AGREEMENT AMENDMENT NO. 2 FOR DESIGN SERVICES –– RESOLUTION NO. 24-32, BUDGET AMENDMENT - ZONE 21 AND 26 ALLEYWAY IMPROVEMENTS – ENGINEER’S REPORT NO. 24-07 Background:

Kimley-Horn (design consultant) is currently designing the local street rehabilitation plans for Zones 2, 9, and 29 which are part of Project No. 7935. The alleyways in Zones 21 and 26 are degraded due to age and use and are in need of repaving.

There are three alleyways in Zones 21 and 26 in need of rehabilitation to repair the degraded asphalt pavement. Area residents have expressed to the City a desire for concrete alleyways to replace the current asphalt pavement due to durability. For expediency and economy of scale, the design of the alleyway improvements is being added to the local street rehabilitation projects currently in design.

On April 3, 2024, staff requested a proposal from Kimley-Horn for Professional Design Services for Alleyway Improvements in Zones 21 & 26 to be added to Project No. 7935. On April 30, 2024, the City received a proposal from Kimley Horn. Staff reviewed the proposals evaluating project scope and cost. Staff recommends amending the original agreement with Kimley-Horn to add Professional Design Services for Alleyway Improvements for Zones 21 & 26 and add it to Project No. 7935.
