SUBJECT: AGREEMENT – BUS EXTERIOR ADVERTISING PROGRAM FOR NORWALK

TRANSIT SYSTEM
Background:

On March 21, 2024, the City issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Exterior Bus Advertising Program Services for Norwalk Transit System (NTS). The advertising program entails management, sales, placement, safe removal, and disposal of exterior advertising on the NTS’ fleet of fixed route buses.

On April 25, 2024, the City received a single proposal from Outfront Media Group, LLC to provide exterior advertising on NTS’ bus fleet. The proposal allocates40% of the monthly revenue derived from various advertisements (i.e. new movies in theaters, consumer products, fast food establishments, etc.) to the City. Historically, revenue sharing of 40% is standard in the transit advertising industry and is identical to the current agreement. Outfront Media Group, LLC is the current vendor of advertising on the exteriors of NTS’ buses.

Fiscal Impact:

The estimated advertising annual revenue will be $35,000 which is included in the Fiscal Year 2024/25 Transportation Department budget.
