RESOLUTION NO. 24-41
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORWALK
ADOPTING THE USE OF TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT
ARTICLE 4 AND STATE TRANSIT ASSISTANCE ARTICLE 6.5 FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2024/25
WHEREAS, the City of Norwalk is committed to providing productive/quality service on all of its transit routes; and
WHEREAS, the Transportation Development Act provides for two major sources of funding for public transportation under the Transportation Development Act (TDA), Article 4 - Local Transportation Fund and the State Transit Assistance (STA), Article 6.5 funds; and
WHEREAS, the Norwalk Transportation System (NTS) is eligible to claim these funds pursuant to Article 4, Public Utilities Code (PUC) Section 99260(a) and Article 6.5 PUC Section 99315; and
WHEREAS, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) requires an annual claim in order to allocate these funds; and WHEREAS, NTS’s portion of the funds are $4,372,320 for TDA and $1,711,477 for STA funds for Fiscal Year 2024/25.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORWALK HEREBY DETERMINES, FINDS, AND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.These funds are to be used to assist the Transportation Department in its on-going operations and continue to provide the most efficient service.
Section 2.The Executive Director of Regional Transportation is authorized to furnish Metro with required claim forms.
Section 3. The Mayor, or presiding officer, is hereby authorized to affix her signature on this Resolution signifying its adoption by the City Council of the City of Norwalk and the City Clerk, or her duly appointed assistant, is directed to attest hereto.
