SUBJECT: PLANNING COMMISSIONER APPOINTMENT
Background:
Due to the resignation of Luis Navas, there is a vacancy on the Planning Commission. Section
2.16.020 of the Norwalk Municipal Code provides that the terms of the members of the Norwalk Planning Commission shall be coexistent with that of the City Councilmember making the appointment. Mr. Navas was appointed by Councilmember Ramirez, therefore, he is entitled to make an appointment to fill this vacancy with a Norwalk resident that will serve through December 10, 2024.
The Office of the City Clerk has posted the mandatory vacancy notice in order to allow appointments to be made at this meeting. An appointment may be made at any time. The next regular meeting of the Planning Commission is scheduled for October 9, 2024.

Recommended Action:
Staff recommends Councilmember Ramirez consider appointing an individual to serve as a Planning Commissioner through December 10, 2024.
