SUBJECT: RESOLUTION NO. 24-49 – BUDGET AMENDMENT – ADD LISTOS
CALIFORNIA COMMUNITY RESPONSE TEAM SUPPORT GRANT AWARD
Background:
To accomplish Goal 2 Objective 2d of the 2023-2025 City of Norwalk Strategic Plan, the City’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) has been working diligently to develop a Community Response Team (CERT) training program. Staff submitted an application to the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services to fund these efforts. The City's efforts to create a successful CERT training program have been recognized and awarded a grant by the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services in the amount of $22,150 .
With the awarded funds, the OEM intends to conduct quarterly CERT training sessions for Norwalk residents and the residents of 24 neighboring cities to solidify the City’s standing as the Regional CERT training program leader.
Fiscal Impact:
Funding for the Regional Community Emergency Response Team will come from the Listos California CERT Support Grant Award in the amount of $22,150.

Recommended Action:
Staff recommends City Council adopt Resolution No. 24-49, A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORWALK AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE FISCAL YEAR 2024/25 ADOPTED BUDGET TO ADD CALIFORNIA COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM SUPPORT GRANT AWARD, in the amount of $22,150.
