RESOLUTION NO. 24-51
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NORWALK AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE FISCAL YEAR
2024/25 ADOPTED BUDGET TO APPROPRIATE AVAILABLE
WATER ENTERPRISE FUNDING FOR ANNUAL WATER LOSS
REPORTING
WHEREAS, the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) requires urban retail water suppliers to submit an Annual Water Loss Report to distribute water; and
WHEREAS, the Annual Water Loss Report provides a systematic approach to auditing and managing water loss in the water distribution, and helps increase water supplies and recover revenues by identifying the scale and cost of these losses; and WHEREAS, in order for the City to continue to comply with DWR regulatory requirements, an audit review of the City’s current, and previous, Annual Water Loss Reports is necessary; and
WHEREAS, the approved Fiscal Year (FY) 2024/25 Budget does not include funding for Annual Water Loss Reporting audit reviews; and WHEREAS, additional costs for audit reviews of Annual Water Loss Reporting are estimated to total an amount not-to-exceed $21,735; and WHEREAS, Water Enterprise funds are utilized as the funding source for regulatory compliance reporting; and
WHEREAS, City Council desires to amend the approved FY 2024/25 Budget to allocate an additional $21,735 of Water Enterprise Funding towards Annual Water Loss Reporting.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORWALK HEREBY DETERMINES, FINDS, AND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to make the following appropriation and prepare the necessary budget amendment for the following account:

Expenditures: 702-30-3602-2080 $21,735
Fund Balance: 702-0480 $21,735
Section 2. The Mayor, or presiding officer, is hereby authorized to affix her signature to this Resolution signifying its adoption by the City Council of the City of Norwalk and the City Clerk, or her duly appointed deputy, is directed to attest thereto. 3 6
