OLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORWALK
RECITING THE FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 5, 2024 , DECLARING THE RESULT S AND SUCH
OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW
WHE
REAS, a General Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of Norwalk, California, on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, consolidated with the State election conducted by the Los Angeles County Registrar/Recorder as required by law; and WHE
REAS, notice of the election was given in time, form, and manner as provided by law; that voting precincts were properly established; that election officers were appointed by the Registrar of Voters of Los Angeles County; and that in all respects the election was held and conducted and the votes were cast, received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California; and
WHE
REAS, pursuant to the Certificate of Election dated December 3 , 202 4, provided by the Los Angeles County Registrar -Recorder/County Clerk, the Registrar of Voters of Los Angeles County canvassed the returns of the November 5, 2024 election and has certified the results to this City Council, the results are received, attached and made a part hereof as “Exhibit A.”

, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORWALK DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:

ction 1. The whole number of ballots cast in the precincts except vote by mail ballots was 11,619; the whole number of vote by mail ballots cast was 24,611 for a total of 36,230 ballots cast; 58,277 registered voters; 62% voter turnout.

ction 2. The names of persons voted for and elected at the election for Member of the Norwalk City Council are as follows in alphabetical order:

Margarita L. Rios
Ana Valencia

ction 3. The number of votes given at each precinct and the number of votes given in the City to each of the persons above named for the office of Member of the City Council are as listed in Exhibit A.

ion 4. The City Council d oes declare and determine that Rick Ramirez, Margarita L. Rios, and Ana Valencia were each elected as Members of the City Council of said City for the term of four years.

Section 5. As reported and certified by the Los Angeles County Registrar - Recorder/County Clerk, Exhibit A shows: (1) The whole number of votes cast in the City; (2) The names of the persons voted for; (3) For what office each person was voted for; (4) The number of votes given at each precinct to each person; and (5) The total number of votes given to each person.

ction 6. The City Clerk shall make and deliver to each of the persons so elected a Certificate of Election signed by the City Clerk and authenticated; that the City Clerk shall also administer to each person elected the Oath of Office prescribed in the Constitution of the State of California and shall have them subscribe to it and file it in the office of the City Clerk. Each and all of the persons so elected shall then be inducted into the respective office to which they have been elected.

ction 7. The Mayor, or presiding officer, is hereby authorized to affix her signature to this Resolution signifying its adoption by the City Council of the City of Norwalk and the City Clerk, or her duly appointed assistant, is directed to attest thereto.
