Restoration of curb, gutter, driveways, & streets -
Paving (portion to be paid with Measure R funding) -
Watermain projects typically only replace the pavement section above the new watermain, plus two additional feet of trench width. Under this project, per the attached map, the highlighted streets were to be resurfaced as part of Project No. 7937 but were not resurfaced in anticipation of this project. The watermain improvements would disturb the fresh pavement work and reduce the pavement service life, which is typically for 15-20 years.
At its regularly scheduled April 15, 2025, meeting, City Council awarded a construction contract (CIP No. 7938) for concrete repairs/replacements only within Zone 31. As part of this project, these streets will be resurfaced following completion of the watermain improvements. Staff recommends Gas Tax and Street Renovation funds for the pavement work, which are eligible for street improvement work.
