SUBJECT: CONFIRM EMERGENCY WORK FOR CITY HALL SEWER LIFT STATION Background:
From July to August 2025, Public Services contracted JIMNI Systems, Inc. (JIMNI) to investigate and repair the sewer system lift station at City Hall. The existing pumps, fittings, and discharge piping were worn and in poor condition, necessitating urgent repairs to prevent failure and avoid service interruptions for staff and the public. The work was completed promptly, with no service disruptions experienced at City Hall.
JIMNI technicians pumped out sewage from the lift station, entered the wet well following confined space procedures, and cleaned, removed, and replaced all outdated equipment, including the installation of two new sewer pumps.
Norwalk Municipal Code §3.20.140 provides procedures for emergency work for recommendation and approval for each service requested.
