RESOLUTION NO. 25-57
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORWALK AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE FISCAL YEAR 2025/26
ADOPTED BUDGET TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS FOR FIRESTONE
BOULEVARD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined there is a need to amend the scope of Firestone Boulevard Improvements, Project No. 7196 to provide necessary safety measures on Firestone Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to complete Firestone Boulevard widening within the City’s Right-of-Way for a total estimated cost of $29,526,959; and WHEREAS, there is a current project budget of $21,421,515; WHEREAS, two current Capital Improvement Projects, Project No. 7184 Carmenita Road, and Project No. 7921 Alondra Boulevard have Proposition C funding expiring on June 30, 2026 needing to be re-allocated to expend prior to the expiration date; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to reallocate funding from Projects No. 7184 ($900,000) and 7921 ($990,000) to Firestone Project No. 7196; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the Fiscal Year 2025/26 budget for a net amount of $8,105,444 in additional funding comprised of: proposition C ($2,119,444), Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (METRO) measure M ($5,000,900), and Surface Transportation Program Local (STPL) funds ($1,270,000) to continue the construction services for the Firestone Boulevard improvements, Project No. 7196.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORWALK HEREBY DETERMINES, FINDS, AND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.The City Manager is authorized to make the following appropriation and prepare the necessary budget amendment for the following account:

Section 2.The Mayor, or presiding officer, is hereby authorized to affix his signature to this Resolution signifying its adoption by the City Council of the City of Norwalk and the City Clerk, or her duly appointed assistant, is directed to attest thereto.
