RESOLUTION NO. 26-09
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORWALK
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO LEASE SPARE UTILITY CONDUITS
ON THE FIRESTONE BRIDGE OVER SAN GABRIEL RIVER
WHEREAS, the City constructed the Firestone Boulevard Bridge over the San Gabriel River with five 4” diameter Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) conduits under the sidewalks; WHEREAS, Verizon Communications, Inc. through their contractor VCI Construction desire to lease one of the spare conduits to run Verizon Telecommunication’s fiber optic line;
WHEREAS, the City Engineering staff in coordination with the City of Downey Public Works Engineering staff developed a consistent lease agreement conditions and lease rates for a term of 15 years;
WHEREAS, the City desires to enter into a lease agreement for the proposed spare conduit lease in accordance with the negotiated terms and conditions; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the FY 2025/26 budget to account for the proposed lease revenue from the utility conduit lease;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORWALK HEREBY DETERMINES, FINDS, AND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.The City Manager is authorized to make the following appropriation and prepare the necessary budget amendment for the following account:

Revenue: 101-30-0000-4323 $21,970
Fund Balance: 101-0480 $21,970
Section 2.The Mayor, or presiding officer, is hereby authorized to affix her signature to this Resolution signifying its adoption by the City Council of the City of Norwalk and the City Clerk, or her duly appointed assistant, is directed to attest thereto.
