SUBJECT: AWARD CONTRACT FOR TILE CLEANING AND GROUT SEALING IN
RESTROOMS AT CITY FACILITIES
Background:
The City maintains approximately 39,000 square feet of tile flooring across park restrooms and various public facilities. Due to high public usage, exposure to moisture, and routine cleaning chemicals, tile and grout surfaces require annual deep cleaning and sealing to preserve their condition, prevent deterioration, and maintain sanitary and aesthetic standards.
In November 2025, the City released a Request for Quote (RFQ) solicitation from qualified companies for tile cleaning and grout sealing in restrooms at all City Facilities. There was only one responsive bid received with the following results:
Vendor Name Bid Amount
Classic Floor Care, Inc. $48,105
The sole responsive bid was submitted by Classic Floor Care, Inc. of Glendora in the amount of $48,105 for the first year. The bid reflects a unit cost of approximately $1.25 per square foot.
City staff and contractor will generate a schedule to minimally impact facility operations and programming.
Fiscal Impact:
Funding is included in the approved Fiscal Year 2025/26 budget for this project. Funds for FY 2026/27 will be requested in the upcoming budget process.
