SUBJECT: RESOLUTION NO. 26-21 - BUDGET AMENDMENT FOR ATHLETIC NETTING
SYSTEM INSTALLATION
Background:
Since 1992, Zimmerman Park has been the site for youth and adult baseball leagues year- round. In 2023, the Recreation and Park Services Department (RPSD) received multiple reports from a local resident concerning balls landing in their backyard adjacent to the park. After multiple attempts to rectify this issue internally, City personnel moved forward with a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) 26-5101-006 for the installation of an athletic netting system, which was released on February 26, 2026.
After evaluating all the proposals, RPSD selected Judge Netting as the most responsive bidder for RFQ 26-5101-006. The agreement was approved at the April 7, 2026, City Council Meeting.
Staff is requesting a budget amendment as this project was not included in FY Budget 2025/26.
Fiscal Impact:
This project was not included in FY Budget 2025/26, and a budget amendment is needed to allocate funds from the Park Renovation fund in the amount of $84,800.
