SUBJECT: RESOLUTION NO. 26-42 – AMENDMENT NO. 7 FOR THE SUPPORTIVE SERVICES PROGRAM AGREEMENT FISCAL YEAR 2026-2027
Background:
The City, in partnership with the Los Angeles County Aging and Disabilities Department, administers the Supportive Services Program (SSP) to serve senior residents in our community.
This grant enables the Norwalk Senior Center to provide essential services that promote and maintain independent living for older adults, helping them avoid premature or unnecessary institutionalization.
Grant funds are dedicated to providing homemaking, personal care, in-home respite, and case management services for Norwalk seniors. These services are delivered by in-home workers contracted by the City. Through the Supportive Services Program, approximately 50 to 55 Norwalk seniors receive assistance each fiscal year.
Fiscal Impact:
The proposed amendment with the Los Angeles County Aging and Disabilities Department is for an amount not to exceed $55,000. This funding will enable the Norwalk Senior Center to continue providing Case Management, Personal Care, Homemaker, In-Home Respite Care, and Registry Services to eligible seniors.
