RESOLUTION NO. 26-48
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORWALK AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE FISCAL YEAR 2026/27
ADOPTED BUDGET TO ADD OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY GRANT
AWARD AND PEDESTRIAN AND BICYCLE SAFETY PROGRAM
FUNDING
WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026/27 Budget does not include the Office of Traffic Safety grant award and pedestrian and bicycle safety program funding; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the FY 2026/27 Budget to allocate the awarded $45,000.00 for operating costs for Public Safety’s efforts of implementing a comprehensive bicycle safety program, focusing on educating the community of safe riding practices and understanding traffic laws; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the Fiscal Year 2026/27 Budget to appropriate the awarded Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Program Grant in the amount of $45,000.00 to support eligible grant activities and expenditures.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORWALK HEREBY DETERMINES, FINDS, AND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.The City Manager is authorized to make the following appropriations and prepare the necessary budget amendment for the following account:
Account Number Debit Credit
Expenditures: 212-20-2104 (XXXX) $45,000.00 $45,000.00
Revenues: 212-20-2104-4469 $45,000.00 $45,000.00
Section 2.The Mayor, or presiding officer, is hereby authorized to affix her signature to this Resolution signifying its adoption by the City Council of the City of Norwalk and the City Clerk, or her duly appointed assistant, is directed to attest thereto.
