Mayor Bairos opened Public Comment. With no public comment received, Mayor Bairos closed the Public Comment period.
4. Staff Report
4.1 Consider approving a Resolution of the City Council to approve funding for the Third Avenue Construction Hardship Program.
City Manager Whitemyer provided a report regarding the Third Avenue Construction Hardship Program. The program would provide economic assistance to businesses located on or near North Third Avenue between E Street and F Street who have been negatively impacted by street improvement construction process.
Staff responded to questions from the Council.
Mayor Bairos opened the item for public comment.
A business owner questioned if salons are able to apply for this grant.
A business owner questioned if a copy of the lease or mortgage statement was required or if a copy of a cancelled check would suffice and if when they started ownership of the business would be acceptable for profit and loss statements.
Rachel Jones questioned where the money would be going if it was not reallocated for this program and if that money could be reallocated somewhere else.
A vendor of a business questioned if they would be eligible to apply for the grant.
Staff provided brief comment in response to public questions. "Cowboy Capital of the World"
