The Council authorized settlement in the amount of $125,000.00.
This case arose out of an incident occurring on 2019 to present.
FACTS/ISSUES:
This action arises out of Plaintiff Raynette Dunbar’s allegations that she was denied equal pay due to gender discrimination. Plaintiff was employed with the City of Oakland Department of Housing and Community Development as a mortgage advisor and alleges that since February 2019, a male colleague received higher pay for the same work.
This settlement will compensate Plaintiff for backpay, interest, liquidated damages, and emotional distress claims, and attorney’s fees and costs.
