RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE OAKLAND FUND FOR CHILDREN
AND YOUTH FINAL EVALUATION REPORT FOR FISCAL YEAR 2020- 2021
WHEREAS, the Kids First! Oakland Fund for Children and Youth (OFCY) was established by voter approved ballot Measure K in 1996 to set money aside for programs and services benefiting children and youth; and
WHEREAS, the Kids First! Legislation (Oakland City Charter Article XIII, Section 1305.4) requires the OFCY Planning and Oversight Committee (POC) to submit annual independent evaluation reports to the Oakland City Council for adoption; and WHEREAS, the City contracted with Social Policy Research Associates to conduct an independent evaluation of OFCY for Fiscal Year (FY) 2020-2021 (July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021) and report their findings to the POC; and
WHEREAS, in FY 2020-2021 OFCY awarded $18,111,301 in grant funds and monitored 149 grant agreements with qualified organizations for direct services to children and youth; and WHEREAS, Social Policy Research Associates has presented its Oakland Fund for Children and Youth Final Evaluation Report FY 2020-2021 to the POC, and the POC hereby submits the report to the City Council for adoption; now therefore, be it 3153793vl/JL
RESOLVED: That, pursuant to Oakland Charter section 1305.4, the City Council hereby adopts the Oakland Fund for Children and Youth Final Evaluation Report FY 2020-2021 prepared by Social Policy Research Associates and submitted by the Oakland Fund for Children and Youth Planning and Oversight Committee.
