Re: ADOPT RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 88780 C.M.S., WHICH
AMONG OTHER THINGS GRANTED SEVENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($75,000) TO HOMIES EMPOWERMENT, TO ADD SOCIAL GOOD FUND INC. AS FISCAL SPONSOR FOR HOMIES EMPOWERMENT.
Dear City Council Colleagues and Members of the Public,
On July 21, 2021 the Oakland City Council adopted Resolution No. 88780 C.M.S., which among other things, awarded a grant in the amount of $75,000 to Homies Empowerment, selected by my office, for community-related services. Homies Empowerment is a nonprofit engaged in several different community services and programs that benefit the residents of East Oakland and District 7. In order to receive this grant , Homies Empowerment requires a fiscal sponso r. Social Good Fund Inc. has agreed to be a fiscal sponsor for Homies Empowerment.
The accompanying resolution requests that Resolution No. 88780 C.M.S. be amended to add Social Good Fund Inc. as a fiscal sponsor for Homies Empowerment . With this amendment, all other provisions of Resolution No. 88780 C.M.S. will remain unchanged. I respectfully request the adoption of this Resolution so that these funds may be disbursed to Homies Empowerment to support their community-related services.
