President Fortunato Bas and Members of the City Council:
Pursuant to Section 401 of the Charter, the City Attorney has prepared and requests your approval of a resolution authorizing compromise and settlement of the above -entitled claim for the sum of Thirty-Five Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($3 5,000.00), made payable to Shannon Murphey.
This action arises out of an April 4, 2021 incident in which Shannon Murphey claims that a blockage in the City’s sewer caused substantial damage to Murphey’s residence.
The City Council authorized settlement of this case in Closed Session on Thursday, June 2, 2022 (moved by Vice Mayor Rebecca Kaplan and seconded by Councilmember Loren Taylor - 8 Ayes).
