Please tell us how your qualifications and participation will relate to the requested board and/or commission's mission.

I believe that both the Oakland Housing Authority and I have experienced meaningful growth because of my tenure on the commission and I look forward to advancing a number of OHA initiatives that were stalled because of Covid but are now fully in play. I hope that through renewal of my term, I will have the opportunity to see those initiatives through. I have a longstanding commitment to providing affordable housing, and I remain dedicated interested in supporting such work in Oakland through the good work of OHA. As a Senior Director at Enterprise Community Partners, I have developed a broad understanding of the affordable housing field and have spent a significant portion of my career elevating and supporting public housing authorities to be pivotal actors in advancing affordable housing opportunities, despite the history of federal disinvestment in public housing agencies. In addition, I've worked with many practitioners and students of best practices to connect public housing authorities and their residents into the larger funding, services and human capital networks that have typically operated outside of public housing authorities. These experiences allow me to participate fully and meaningfully on the Oakland Housing Authority's Board of Commissioners. Furthermore, while I do not work within the financing arena of public and affordable housing, specifically, I have familiarity and comfort with housing finance arrangements, as well as access to many creative financial minds through my current employment.

Finally, I approach my work and board service from a learning and observational posture which allows me to bring creativity and sensitivity to this field of work. I enjoy bringing these skills to bear in such a critically important area as supporting OHA and find participating on the OHA Board of Commissions to be both personally and professionally very rewarding. I very much look forward to continuing my service.
