INTRODUCED BY INTRODUCED BY COUNCIL PRESIDENDT NIKKI FORTUNATO BAS RESOLUTION RE-APPOINTING COUNCILMEMBER NOEL GALLO TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTOR OF THE ALAMEDA COUNTY LEAD POISONING PREVENTION PROGRAM JOINT POWERS AUTHORITY AND DIRECTOR WILLIAM GILCHRIST AS THE OFFICIAL ALTERNATE FOR COUNCILMEMBER GALLO FOR TERMS COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 2023 AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 2024 WHEREAS, Section 4 of the Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement dated December 17, 1996 (Joint Powers Agreement) created the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority, whose members are appointed by the Oakland City Council and the Alameda County Board of Supervisors to serve two year terms; and WHEREAS, Section 4 of the Joint Powers Agreement originally provided that the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority Board of Commissioners would consist of four members, two members of the City Council and two members of the Alameda County Board of Supervisors; and WHEREAS, on February 9, 2001, pursuant to Section 4 of the Joint Powers Agreement, the Board of Commissioners voted to add additional board members with two to be appointed by the City Council from members of the community; and WHEREAS, Rule 6 of the Council's Rules of Procedure provides that, except for appointments reserved to the Mayor under the City Charter, the Council President shall recommend appointments to regional and local boards and agencies as appropriate subject to confirmation of the City Council; now, therefore be it 2646873v6 - updated 01/13/2021
RESOLVED: That Councilmember Noel Gallo is hereby re-appointed to the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority Board of Commissioners and Director William Gilchrist as the official alternate for Councilmember Noel Gallo for terms commencing January 1st 2023 and Ending December 31st, 2024.
