INTRODUCED BY COUNCIL PRESIDENT NIKKI FORTUNATO BAS RESOLUTION APPOINTING COUNCILMEMBER JANANI RAMACHANDRAN TO THE OAKLAND INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT COMMUNITY NOISE MANAGEMENT FORUM FOR A TWO YEAR TERM BEGINNING APRIL 20, 2023 WHEREAS, the City Council’s Rules of Procedure (Resolution, No 82580 C.M.S.) state that “the President of the Council shall recommend appointments to regional and local boards and agencies, as appropriate, subject to confirmation by the Council”; and WHEREAS, the Oakland International Airport Community Noise Management Forum (commonly referred to as the Noise Forum) was created to address community noise concerns and make recommendations to the Port of Oakland’s Executive Director on noise related issues at Oakland International Airport; and WHEREAS, Noise Forum representatives include the Port Director of Aviation and one elected official and one citizen from six neighboring cities as well as Alameda County; and WHEREAS, the Noise Forum facilitates cooperation between the Port and local communities; and WHEREAS, the City Council’s Rules of Procedures (Resolution No. 82580 C.M.S.) provide that “the President of the Council shall recommend appointments to regional and local boards and agencies, as appropriate, subject to confirmation by the Council;” now, therefore, be it RESOLVED: That Councilmember Janani Ramachandran is hereby appointed to the Oakland International Airport Community Noise Management Forum, commencing April 20, 2023 and ending April 20, 2025.
