RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND HONORING THE INIMITABLE
A’JANEE LANDINGHAM FOR HER YEARS OF DEDICATED AND
IMPACTFUL SERVICE TO THE CITY OF OAKLAND AND ITS
RESIDENTS IN HER ROLE WITH THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK
AND WISHING HER CONTINUED SUCCESS IN HER FUTURE
ENDEAVORS
WHEREAS, A’Janee Landingham began working for the City of Oakland in 2016, taking on the role of Legislative Recorder; and
WHEREAS, while her position with the City of Oakland was her first professional job after graduating from college, A’Janee hit the ground running and quickly became a critical part of the Clerk’s Office and the City more generally; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Landingham, in collaboration with the rest of the Clerk’s team, has worked tirelessly to ensure processes and procedures are followed and that the various public meetings are conducted in an efficient and effective manner; and WHEREAS, Ms. Landingham is also a key part of the Clerks’ effective coordination among the Administration, the Council offices, the various departments and their staff, and the residents of Oakland; and
WHEREAS, she has been a strong voice for integrity and transparency with regards to how Committee and Council meetings are conducted and prioritizes clarity of information and materials with a focus on accessibility for Oakland residents, allowing for increased civic participation; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Landingham has truly become an invaluable member of the Clerk’s team over the years, even helping in areas not specific to her work; and WHEREAS, in her tenure with the Clerk’s Office, she has truly developed as a leader and is an essential part of helping the City not only adapt but be innovative through the changes in operations brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Landingham is never afraid to speak her mind, especially on behalf of those who may not be able to speak up for themselves; and WHEREAS, Ms. Landingham is transitioning from the City of Oakland and taking on a new role as a Program Manager with Santa Clara County; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED: That while she will be sorely missed and it is a true loss for the City, she will no doubt bring immense value to the organization she is transitioning to and we are extremely proud of her as she takes the next step in her professional career; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Oakland City Council recognizes and honors the inimitable A’Janee Landingham for her years of dedicated and impactful service to the City and its residents in her role with the Office of the City Clerk and wish her continued success in her future endeavors.
