RESOLUTION RATIFYING ACTION TAKEN BY THE MAYOR DURING
THE OAKLAND CITY COUNCIL 202 3 ANNUAL RECESS IN
CONFORMANCE WITH THE COUNCIL’S RULES OF PROCEDURE
CODIFIED IN RESOLUTION NO. 89588 C.M.S., PASSED FEBRUARY 7, 2023
WHEREAS, the City Council has taken its Annual Recess beginning July 24, 2023, and ending August 31, 2023; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Council’s Rules of Procedure codified in Resolution No. 89588 C.M.S., passed July 7, 2023, certain authority to take actions on behalf of the City Council is delegated to the Mayor during the Annual Recess, the following action was taken:
• Adopt A Resolution Fixing The Rate Of Property Tax And Levying A Tax On Real And Personal Property In The City Of Oakland For Fiscal Year 2023-2024 For Voter-Approved Indebtedness; and
WHEREAS, action on this item could not be deferred for Council action following the recess because the City was required to set the property tax levy rates prior to August 31, 2023, in order for the County of Alameda to include the rates in the 2023-24 secured property tax bill: now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED: The Oakland City Council does hereby ratify the above-mentioned action taken by the Mayor during the City Council Annual Recess commencing July 24, 2023 and ending August 31, 2023.
