NAME OF ACTION: Claim of Seminary Havenscourt LP Claim No. C34946 This matter is listed as Item No. 2 on the Closed Session Agenda:

The Council authorized settlement in the amount of $60,831.26

This case arose out of an incident occurring on October 24, 2021.

FACTS/ISSUES:

On October 24, 2021, a storm drain failure caused water to back up into the apartment building of Seminary Havenscourt LP (“Seminary”) at 6600 International Boulevard in Oakland. Seminary alleges that the incident caused water damage to two apartment units as well as an office and their community areas.

Seminary filed a government tort claim to seek reimbursement of their damages. At this time, the alleged economic damages total approximately $60,831.26. The approved settlement resolves all claims with the Claimant in this matter without litigation.
