RESOLUTION AWARDING A GRANT AGREEMENT TO SERVICE
OPPORTUNITY FOR SENIORS TO ADMINISTER THE MEALS ON
WHEELS FOOD DELIVERY PROGRAM IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($ 300,000) PER
YEAR FOR FISCAL YEARS 2023-2025
WHEREAS, on June 26, 2023, the City Council adopted the Fiscal Year (FY) 2023-25 biennial budget (Resolution No. 8 9804 C.M.S.), that appropriated funds for the expenditures proposed by said budget; and
WHEREAS, on December 5, 2023, the Oakland City Council adopted Resolution No. 90005 C.M.S. that awarded grants that were appropriated in the Adopted Biennial Budget for FY 2023-25; and
WHEREAS, the award grant for Service Opportunities for Seniors ( SOS) was left off Resolution No. 90005 C.M.S. in error, while listed as an awarded grant appropriated in the Adopted Biennial Budget for FY 2023-25; and
WHEREAS, the Adopted Biennial Budget for FY 2023-25 appropriated three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) per year for SOS Meals on Wheels; and
WHEREAS, the Meals on Wheels program, provided by the Service Opportunity for Seniors organization, delivers nutritious meals to homebound seniors and supports the equitable treatment of senior populations with language, cultural, and other critical needs; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to expedite the issuance of this grant to improve the lives of Oakland community members; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to provide grant funding to the following entity for community-related services and activities in the specified amounts for FY 2023-25:

RESOLVED: That the City Council awards a grant to Service Opportunity for Seniors in an amount not to exceed $300,000 per year for Fiscal Years 2023-2025 to administer the Meals on Wheels food delivery program for seniors.
