RESOLUTION AUTHORIZIN G THE CITY ADMINISTR ATOR TO
ENTER INTO A MEMORAN DUM OF AGREEMENT WIT H THE
FEDERAL AVIATION ADM INISTRATION FOR CITY OF OAKLAND
PESONNEL TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY RESPONSE SERVICE S AT
THE OAKLAND AIRPORT FOR RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH NATURAL,
HUMAN RELATED, AND OR TECHNOLOGICAL HAZARDS
WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has requested a memorandum of agreement be incorporated into the Air Traffic Control Tower Occupant Emergency Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of Oakland currently provides emergency services to the Port of Oakland; and
WHEREAS, Section 504(l) of the Oakland City Charter requires th e City C ouncil to authorize the City Administrator to enter into agreements with other go vernment agencies; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED: that the City Council authorizes the City Administrator enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Federal Aviation Administration to provide emergency response services at the Oakland Airport , an d specifically the Air Traffic Control Tower, for risks associated with natural, human related, and technological hazards; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED: that entering into this MOA will have no fiscal impact on the General Fund; and be it
2 FURTHER RESOLVED: that the City Attorney shall review and approve said agreement as to form and legality and copies of said agreement shall be filed with the Office of the City Clerk.
