RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING REIMBURSEMENT FOR NECESSARY COSTS NOT TO EXCEED $1,400 EACH FROM THE COUNCIL CONTINGENCY FUND
FOR COUNCIL MEMBERS ROWENA BROWN, KEN HOUSTON AND ZAC
UNGER TO TRAVEL TO SACRAMENTO FOR ATTENDANCE AT THE
LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES NEW MAYORS AND COUNCIL MEMBERS ACADEMY FROM JANUARY 22, 2025 THROUGH JANUARY 24, 2025
WHEREAS, New Councilmembers Rowena Brown, Ken Houston and Zac Unger will be participating in the League of California Cities New Mayors and Council Members Academy being held in Sacramento CA, on January 22-24, 2025, and;
WHEREAS, City Council Resolution No. 82800 C.M.S approved by the City Council on June 1, 2010 requires that, when Councilmembers seek Council approval for using City funds for travel, their agenda materials shall indicate whether travel involves airline transporta tion and lodging and shall provide an estimate of the cost of airline, lodging, per diem and conference fees and the source of City funding that will be used to cover the travel cost; and
WHEREAS, in compliance with City Council Resolution No. 82800 C.M.S., the estimated cost for each Councilmember is $675.00 in registration fees, $500.00 for lodging, and $237.00 per diem each for a total estimated costs of $1,362.00, all costs within the City of Oakland’s approved travel policies and procedures, and;
WHEREAS, Council President Nikki Fortunato Bas seeks City Council approval for the aforementioned costs of Councilmembers-Elect Rowena Brown, Ken Houston and Zac Unger to travel to Sacramento CA, to attend the League of California Cities New Mayors and Council Members Academy being held in Sacramento CA, on on January 22-24, 2025; now, therefore, be it
2 RESOLVED: That all expenses incurred for said travel are hereby authorized.
