ORDINANCE (1) SUBMITTING TO THE VOTERS AT A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON APRIL 15, 2025, A PROPOSED ORDINANCE TO IMPOSE A
TRANSACTIONS AND USE TAX TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE
CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TAX AND FEE ADMINISTRATION ; (2)
REQUESTING CONSOLIDATION OF THE ELECTION WITH ALL S PECIAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF OAKLAND ON APRIL 15, 2025; AND (3) DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO TAKE ANY AND
ALL ACTIONS NECESSARY UNDER LAW TO PREPARE FOR AND
CONDUCT THE APRIL 15, 2025 SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
This ordinance would call a special municipal electi on to be held on April 15, 2025 for the purpose of submitting to the voters a proposed orR dinance to impose a general transactions and use tax at a rate of .5% for ten years, to be administered by the California Dep artment of Tax and Fee Administration. This ordinance would request consolidation of the election with all special municipal elections to be held in the City of Oakland on April 15, 2025 and direct the City Clerk to take all actions necessary to conduct the April 15, 2025 special municipal election.

This Ordinance was introduced at the Special City Counci l meeting, Monday evening December 16, 2024 , and passed to print 6 Ayes; 2 Ex- cused Fife and Ramachandran . Final adoption has been scheduled for the Special City Council meeting Thursday evening January 9, 2025, 3:30 P.M. , at One Frank H. Ogawa Plaza, Council Chamber, 3rd floor, Oakland, California, and via Teleconference.
