OGAWA PLAZA, 2ND FLOOR - OAKLAND - CALIFORNIA - 94612 FROM: ZAC UNGER (510) 238-7001 Councilmember (District 1) E-mail: [email protected] TO: Oakland City Councilmembers and Members of the Public SUBJECT: ADOPT A RESOLUTION CELEBRATING THE WEEK OF MAY 18-24, 2025, AS NATIONAL PUBLIC WORKS WEEK IN THE CITY OF OAKLAND DATE: April 10th, 2025 Colleagues on the City Council and Members of the Public, I am honored to bring forth this resolution to celebrate National Public Works Week in the City of Oakland. It is important to honor our staff, and I have seen firsthand during my time on council the great works our public works staff has done to make our city and District 1 better. Whether it is cleaning up our streets, making our city more sustainable, or building out large capital improvements, our public works team is a crucial part of our city that we rely on. Through this resolution, we are proclaiming the week of May 18th-24th as Public Works Week in Oakland in concurrence with National Public Works Week which is happening during those same dates. We will be hosting a recognition event on May 22nd in honor of public works staff where we will celebrate their dedication to the City of Oakland and hand out employee of the year awards.
