The 100th Anniversary of Memorial Tabernacle Church is not only a milestone for the congregation but also for the City of Oakland. The church has consistently demonstrated a commitment to uplifting the community through social services such as providing food, clothing, and essential supplies to unhoused neighbors. Memorial Tabernacle has been a spiritual and cultural anchor. Recognizing this milestone provides an opportunity for the City to honor the church’s enduring legacy and acknowledge its contributions to faith, service, and the civic life of Oakland.
