RESOLUTION AUTOHRIZING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO ENTER INTO A FIRST
AMENDMENT TO THE AMENDED AND RESTATED MANAGEMENT AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF OAKLAND, THE COUNTY OF ALAMEDA, AND THE
OAKLANDALAMEDA COUNTY COLISEUM AUTHORITY (AUTHORITY) TO ALLOW
THE AUTHORITY TO MANAGE THE COLISEUM COMPLEX (COMPLEX) WHILE THE
CITY AND COUNTY BOTH OWN THE COMPLEX
Colleagues on the City Council and Members of the Public, I am writing in support of the above resolution authorizing the City Administrator to enter into a First Amendment to the Amended and Restated Management Agreement between the City of Oakland, the County of Alameda, and the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority (Authority). This amendment will allow the Authority to continue managing the Coliseum Complex while both the City and County retain ownership. Extending this management structure provides stability and continuity during a critical period of transition, ensuring that operations at the site remain coordinated and effective. It also reinforces the shared commitment between the City and County to maintain the Coliseum as a functional and well-managed public asset while long-term ownership and development decisions are under consideration.
