RESOLUTION RE-APPOINTING LISA RASLER AS THE CITY OF
OAKLAND’S TRUSTEE TO THE ALAMEDA COUNTY MOSQUITO
ABATEMENT DISTRICT BOARD
WHEREAS, the A lameda County Mosquito Abatement District was formed in 1930 pursuant to the M osquito Abatement Districts Act authorizing formation of mosquito control districts in the State of California; and
WHEREAS, California Health and Safety Code governs the creation of mosquito abatement districts. Sections 2021 and 2024 of the Health and Safety Code stipulate that the city council of each city within the district may appoint one person to be a member of the board of trustees for a two or four-year term; and
WHEREAS, California Health and Safety Code 2022 (b) provides that each person appointed by a city council to be a member of a board of trustees shall be a voter in that city and a resident of that portion of the city that is within the district; and
WHEREAS, Lisa Rasler, a voter and resident of Oakland, was appointed to the board of trustees in 2024. Her term as the City’s appointed trustee expired on December 31, 2025 and her re-appointment will commence for a four-year term ending December 31, 2029; and
WHEREAS, the City Council’s Rules of Procedure (Resolution No. 82580 C.M.S.) provide that “the President of the Council shall recommend appointments to regional and local boards and agencies, as appropriate, subject to confirmation by the Council”; now, therefore, be it
2 RESOLVED: That Lisa Rasler, an Oakland voter and resident, is hereby appointed as a Trustee of the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District Board, effective March 18th, 2026, for a four-year term ending December 31, 2029.
