LATEEFAH SIMON FOR CO-SPONSORING H.R. 8707, THE NO FUNDS FOR IRAN WAR ACT DATE: June 16th, 2026 Colleagues on the City Council and Members of the Public, We put forth this resolution to thank Pre. Lateefah Simon for supporting H.R. 8707 the No-Funds for the Iran War Act. Our constituents have seen the cost of gas and other goods go up at a time where many were already struggling to make ends meet. We thank Rep. Simon for her work in co-sponsoring this piece of legislation that will look to make things more affordable for all Oakland residents and free up more federal money to be spent on our community instead of on wars abroad.
