The Head Start Advisory Board plays a critical role in supporting Oakland’s Head Start programs by
providing
community
oversight,
advising
on
program
planning
and
policy,
and
helping
ensure
high-quality
early
childhood
education
and
comprehensive
services
for
children
and
families.
The
Board’s
work
is
essential
to
maintaining
compliance
with
federal
Head
Start
requirements
and
advancing
equitable
outcomes
for
Oakland’s
youngest
residents.
Proposed Actions: ● Appoint one new member to fill vacant seat on the Head Start Advisory Board. We appreciate the Council’s consideration and support in advancing this appointment in a timely manner.
