1. Please describe any life, work, and/or significant community volunteer experiences that have prepared you to contribute to the work of the Police Commission.
I work for the Temescal Business Improvement District. Part of my job is to create and oversee the safety program for the district. I work to create a safe environment for everyone and ensure that OPD and private security support public safety while practicing constitutional policing.
2. Please share your perspectives on public safety in the City of Oakland.
Public safety is one of my biggest concerns for Oakland. We need to build community and work together on this issue. It is important to ensure that OPD is using constitutional policing throughout all of Oakland and not just in certain parts.
3. How do you believe you can contribute to advancing the Police Commission’s mission, vision, and goals of ensuring fair, transparent, and accountable policing?
I can contribute by listening to community members, residents, business owners, and the unsheltered community to be their voice on the commission.
I will also bring both my personal and professional experience to this role.
