INTRODUCED BY MAYOR BARBARA LEE
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE MAYOR’S REAPPOINTMENT OF R.
STEVEN WILKINSON AS A MEMBER OF THE OAKLAND POLICE AND
FIRE RETIREMENT BOARD
WHEREAS, Section 601 of the Oakland City Charter provides that members of City boards and commissions shall be appointed by the Mayor subject to confirmation by the affirmative vote of five members of the City Council; and WHEREAS, Section 2601 of the City Charter provides that the Police and Fire Retirement System shall be managed and administered by a Police and Fire Retirement Board; and
WHEREAS, the Honorable Mayor Barbara Lee, upon the recommendation of the corresponding councilmembers, reappoints R. Steven Wilkinson to the Oakland Police and Fire Retirement Board for the terms stated below; now, therefore, be it 2 RESOLVED: That pursuant to City Charter Section 601, the City Council hereby confirms the Mayor's appointment as follows:
R. Steven Wilkinson is appointed to the Oakland Police and Fire Retirement Board as Insurance Representative to serve a term beginning September 1, 2026 and ending August 31, 2031, retaining the seat he currently holds.
