RESOLUTION NO. ______________ C.M.S.
RESOLUTION CONFIRMING AND RATIFYING ACTION TAKEN BY
THE MAYOR DURING THE OAKLAND CITY COUNCIL 2026 ANNUAL
RECESS IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE COUNCIL’S RULES OF
PROCEDURE
WHEREAS, pursuant to the City Council’s Rules of Procedure, Resolution No. 91119 C.M.S., the City Council’s Annual Recess shall be for the period of August 1 through August 31 of each year, or until the first meeting in September as set by the Rules and Legislation Committee; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has taken its Annual Recess from August 1, 2026, through the first meeting in September; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Council’s Rules of Procedure the Mayor is authorized to take certain actions as would normally be taken by the City Council during the period of the Annual Recess, and the Mayor is directed to make a full and complete report to the City Council, at its first regular meeting in October, of actions taken by the Mayor during the Annual Recess at which time the City Council may make such findings and confirm said actions of the Mayor; and WHEREAS, the following actions were taken during the Annual Recess and became effective August 25, 2026:
• Adopt A Resolution Fixing The Rate Of Property Tax And Levying A Tax On Real And Personal Property In The City Of Oakland For Fiscal Year 2026-27 For VoterApproved Indebtedness (Resolution No. 91307 C.M.S.) • Adopt A Resolution (1) Accepting Up To One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000) From The Mitchell Kapor Foundation – P.R.I.M.E. Alliance To Support And Provide Partial Funding For A Staff Position In The Mayor’s Office To Serve As The Local Project Manager Leading The City’s Participation In The P.R.I.M.E. Alliance; and (2) Authorizing The City Administrator To Enter Into A Memorandum Of Understanding Subject To Additional Council Approvals Where Required (Resolution No. 91308 C.M.S.); now, therefore, be it
2 RESOLVED: That The Oakland City Council does hereby confirm and ratify the abovementioned actions taken by the Mayor during the City Council Annual Recess commencing August 1, 2026, through the first meeting in September 2026.
