RE: Appointment of One Member to the Head Start Advisory Board The Mayor’s Office respectfully requests City Council consideration for the appointment of Stephanie Wilborn to serve on the Head Start Advisory Board. This appointment is intended to fill the current vacancy and to ensure that the board’s essential functions remain uninterrupted.
The Head Start Advisory Board plays a critical role in supporting Oakland’s Head Start programs by providing community oversight, advising on program planning and policy, and helping ensure high-quality early childhood education and comprehensive services for children and families.
The Board’s work is essential to maintaining compliance with federal Head Start requirements and advancing equitable outcomes for Oakland’s youngest residents.
Proposed Actions:
● Appoint Stephanie Wilborn to fill the vacant seat on the Head Start Advisory Board.
