Councilmember Shaw reported that the Ironhouse Sanitary District meeting was canceled, she attended the Water Safety Day event Sunday, and the Tri-Delta Transit meeting is tomorrow.
Councilmember Henderson mentioned the bass tournament was held this past weekend which brought a lot of activity to the area. He reported he attended the swearing-in ceremony yesterday for Oakley’s 39th Police Officer.
Councilmember Fuller reported he attended the 164th commencement ceremony at the University of San Francisco last Friday where he received his Doctor of Education in Special Education with an emphasis on Disability Studies. He thanked everyone for the gift. He mentioned the next ABAG meeting will be held June 16thand as a voting member he will be sure to provide the agenda when it becomes available and receive comments. He mentioned his last time at the general assembly, there was discussion that coastal cities are joining to take a petition to the state to take back local control, especially in Berkeley where they are behind on their RHNA requirements; they want to be excused from RHNA requirements and for a bond to be issued to developers that would have incentive and assistance to build in open areas of the state such as Oakley, Brentwood and other regions heading east through the Delta which are all vulnerable because coastal cities are in population centers and eastern cities do not carry that same population, so he would like to bring together local cities in this area including Rio Vista, Stockton, Sacramento, Lodi, and Elk Grove, to oppose coastal cities being excused of RHNA requirements and building being shifted eastwardly.
Mayor Meadows reported he attended the Contra Costa Transportation Authority meeting, TRANSPLAN meeting, and the swearing-in ceremony.
