Mayor Gilman called the Special Meeting of the Ojai City Council to order on November 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL
On the call of the roll, the following were present in the Kent Hall Chambers:
Mayor Gilman, Mayor Pro Tem Lang, and Council Members Rule, Whitman and Mang.
Also present in the Kent Hall Chambers: City Manager Harvey and Chief Deputy City Clerk Montgomery
ABSENCES
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Chief Deputy City Clerk Montgomery led the Pledge of Allegiance.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Motion:
It was moved by Mayor Pro Tem Lang, with a second by Council Member Whitman, to approve the Agenda of the November 4, 2025, Special Meeting.
COUNCIL ACTION:
Unanimous Consent reached through the Mayor.
CLOSED SESSION
The City Council is considering City Attorney firms for the position of Ojai City Attorney. At this Special City Council meeting, the City Council may make a decision to appoint a City Attorney, or they may make a decision to continue their review and selection process. If the City Council appoints a City Attorney, approval of that contract would come in a future, open session agenda item. Accordingly, both public employment and public appointment government code sections are noticed on this agenda.

Mayor adjourned into Closed session at 2:05 PM.
City Manager Harvey reported out of Closed Session that the City Council interviewed two legal firms and has directed staff to contact the firm Aleshire & Wynder to coordinate a near-term open discission of appointment.
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Gilman adjourned the November 4, 2025, Special Meeting at 5:00 p.m., until the November 18, 2025, Special Meeting at 5:00 p.m.
