1. SUBJECT
Support agreement with SidePath, Inc. for the Civic Center and Police Department storage area networks (SAN).
2. SUMMARY
The support agreement for the Civic Center and Police Department storage area network (SAN) expires on January 31, 2022. This agreement will extend the support agreement, which includes technical support, software support and upgrades, and 24/7 hardware replacement, for one year.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
Approve the agreement with SidePath, Inc. in the amount of $51,530.44 for the period of February 1, 2022 through January 31, 2023.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
The total expenditure for this agreement is $51,530.44 and will be funded through Information Systems Operations (780).

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
The Dell/Compellent SAN platforms at Civic Center and Orange PD are the primary storage solutions for all of the City’s servers. The support agreement includes software support as well as 24/7 hardware replacement, with a guaranteed four hour response time. Hardware replacements include vendor installation and configuration in the event of a failure.
The current support agreement expires on January 31, 2022. The City has 30 days after expiration to renew without incurring a reinstatement fee. This proposed agreement would extend support of the storage area network through January 31, 2023 at a cost increase of 11% over current contract. This increase is larger than previous years as the Civic Center SAN will be reaching end of life in March 2022 and Dell is extending support beyond their standard practice.
