1. SUBJECT
Authorize purchase of annual VMware support at both the Civic Center and Orange Police Department datacenters from Sidepath, Inc.
2. SUMMARY
Support for on-going maintenance of the VMware environments at both the Civic Center and Orange Police Department datacenters is due annually.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
Approve the purchase of VMware annual support for both the Civic Center and Orange Police Department datacenters from Sidepath, Inc. in the amount of $17,053.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
The total expenditure for this agreement is $17,053 and will be funded through Information Systems Operations (780).

c: Enhance technology to improve public accessibility to information and services.
6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
VMware is the virtualization platform that is used in both the Civic Center and Orange Police Department datacenters to manage server, network, and storage resources more efficiently. Annual support provides us with access to software updates and technical support resources in the event of an issue with the VMware environment. VMware has not increased the annual support amount from last year.
