1. SUBJECT
Authorize purchase of Dell server maintenance from Sidepath, Inc.
2. SUMMARY
Five of the Dell PowerEdge R740 servers that are hosting VMware are at the end of their warranty period and are due for annual renewal.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
Approve the purchase of Dell Server maintenance from Sidepath, Inc. for $10,749.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
The total expenditure for this purchase is $10,749 and will be funded through Information Systems (780).

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
Five of the Dell PowerEdge R740 servers that are used to provide VMware services to both the Civic Center and Orange PD datacenters have reached the end of their warranty period and are due for annual renewal. The Dell annual support provides mission critical, 24x7 on-site service, 4-hour maximum response time, and technical support.
