Appropriation of $4,063.64 in revenue from Community Garden plot leases.
2. SUMMARY
Collected revenues are recommended to be appropriated for Community Garden maintenance.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
1. Accept into the City’s revenue budget $4,063.64 in community garden plot fees into revenue account 100.7001.44210.20227 General Fund - Garden Plots.
2. Authorize the appropriation of $4,063.64 in the following expenditure account number 100.7001.51700.20227, General Fund - Garden Plots.

The revenue received funds the requested appropriation.

Goal 3: Enhance and promote quality of life in the community a: Renovate, maintain, develop, and/or expand public use places and spaces.
6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
Community Garden Lease Revenue
The City owns and operates 48 community garden plots located at 254 North Main Street.
Registered gardeners are charged an annual lease fee of $75 per plot to cover the cost of utilities, infrastructure, and repairs of the community garden. Additionally, new gardeners are charged a $100 deposit to be returned if they clear their plot before vacating should they choose not to renew their lease. Lease revenue collected for 2022 available for appropriation totals $4,063.64, which is the sum of lease revenue and forfeited deposits less the City’s 8% administrative costs.
