1. SUBJECT
Appropriation of $60,000 in designated donation funding received from the Orange Public Library Foundation.
2. SUMMARY
This $60,000 donation will be used to purchase equipment to enhance and expand the Library’s technology for children.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
1. Accept into the City’s revenue budget a $60,000 donation from Orange Public Library Foundation, into revenue account number 100.2001.48390.19322, General Fund - Orange Public Library Foundation.
2. Authorize the appropriation of $60,000 into expenditure account number 100.2004.55131.19322, General Fund - Orange Public Library Foundation.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
The total appropriations for this donation are funded by the additional revenue received from the Orange Public Library Foundation.

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
The Orange Public Library Foundation is donating $60,000 to enhance and expand the Library’s technology for children. The donation will fund replacement of end-of-life AWE Learning Early Literacy Stations at the Orange Public Library & History Center, El Modena Branch Library, and Taft Branch Library. Funds will provide up to twelve bilingual Spanish computer stations featuring touchscreen monitors, child-friendly keyboards, and child-size mice as well as more than 85 pre- loaded S.T.E.A.M.-aligned educational software titles.
