Authorize purchase of Early Literacy Stations for the Orange Public Library from AWE Learning.
2. SUMMARY
Request to authorize a $60,937.96 purchase order with AWE Learning for Early Literacy Stations for the Orange Public Library & History Center and the El Modena and Taft Branch Libraries.
3. RECOMMENDED ACTION
Approve purchase order for Early Literacy Stations from AWE Learning in the amount of $60,937.96.
4. FISCAL IMPACT
The total expenditure for this purchase is $60,937.96 and will be funded through General Fund (100).

6. DISCUSSION AND BACKGROUND
This purchase order will fund replacement of end-of-life AWE Learning Early Literacy Stations at the Orange Public Library & History Center, El Modena Branch Library, and Taft Branch Library. Funds will provide twelve bilingual Spanish computer stations featuring touchscreen monitors, child-friendly keyboard and mouse, as well as more than 85 pre-loaded S.T.E.A.M.-aligned educational software titles. Funds will also purchase compatible child-size headphones, audio adapters, and audio Y- splitter cables.
AWE Learning has almost 20 years of experience providing fun and interactive Early Literacy Stations to public libraries to help enhance school readiness and literacy skill-building for their communities’young learners. AWE Learning products are in over 47% of public libraries in the United States, totaling more than 20,000 workstations. AWE Learning has provided Orange Public Library with Early Literacy Station discounts, technical support, and quality customer service for approximately 15 years.
